Inspiration

An artist I have researched before has some very relevant works of art that relate to my idea of photographing from above looking down.

Polly Rockberger

Polly discovered the chalk markings and described them as a mystery. "I was mesmerised by the arrows, squiggles and whorls". In order to take this series of photographers Polly risked her life by leaning over her balcony. I like her work and I feel that she has made ordinary road markings interesting by capturing them from a different point of view and in a way which makes the viewer question the composition. I can relate to this and use it in my own work by thinking about how to make something ordinary (in this case a building) eye catching and different.

Technology and how we look at the world..
In the world we live in today, it is very rare to find someone without a piece of technology attached to them.

Even the way we view the world has evolved over time, on google maps we see a view from above looking down. By cropping and zooming in we are able to create abstract and unrecognisable images.
